A Natural Herbal Supplement for Excessive Menstrual Bleeding and Cramps

Both the dried flowers of Ashoka and the bark have been used in Ayurveda for many centuries. The bark is prescribed in Ayurvedic medicine for arresting bleeding or secretion and as a uterine sedative. It is said to have a stimulating effect on the endometrium that is, the mucuous membrance lining the uterus and on the ovarian tissues. It acts directly on the muscular fibers of the uterus.

Excessive menstrual bleeding is common with women who have a high Pitta or fire constitution due to heated up blood. The period is usually prolonged and bleeding may occur in between periods and sometimes blood will also appear in the stool. Causes can be from overeating of hot, spicy, sour or salty foods, smoking, drinking alcohol, unresolved anger, resentment, or hostility. Other causes can be abortions, incomplete miscarriages, cervical erosion, endometriosis, polyps, tumors, contraceptives, and birth controll pills. This condition can also indicate infections so it should be brought under control as soon as possible with herbs, diet, and a better life style.

Botanical Ingredients for Ashoka Rasayana

Instructions: Eat directly from the jar or dissolve 1 level teaspoon per 50 lbs. of body weight in a cup of warm to hot water and take 30 min. before meals on the 4th day of the menstrual cycle until bleeding stops.
